Planning for the Interview


Jobs-to-be-done is a concept and technique where it helps the investigator to understand how the customers hire various solutions at various time to get a wide array of jobs done. In this research, I will use this concept to find out how and what digital solution the employer and employee have hired to solve their learning problem in the working environment.

Planning the Interview

The interview will be conducted to two groups, the employers and employees. Both groups have different objective to achieve and it will be interesting to see what kind of insight I can get from the interviews.

Employer

  • Target group size, 2 ~ 3
  • Management who has the direct involvement and responsibility in staff training
  • It will be ideal if they have use digital technology in the training.

Employee

  • Target group size, 4 ~ 5
  •  Employees who have at least 2 years working experience and has received staff training in the recent months.

Possible script for the employers

  1. Can you briefly tell me about your involvement in staff training? What is your responsibility and objective?
  2. What is the last time you have conducted staff training? External or Internal?
  3. What is the budget and objective for the training?
  4. What good and bad experiences that you have received from it?
  5. Have you tried using digital technology to assist in the training?

Possible script for the employees

  1. Can you briefly tell me about your job scope?
  2. What is the last time you have received staff training? External or Internal?
  3. What is your expectation and objective for the training?
  4. What good and bad experiences that you have received from it?
  5. Are you able to apply what you have learned?
  6. Have you tried using digital technology to assist in the training?

The interviews will be conducted in the coming week and it will be recorded for research purpose.
